Women demand exemption for beauty parlors during lockdown in Pakistan. Thus, it has resulted in a strange request in a Provincial Assembly in Pakistan.

For some, beauty matters more than life. This is evident when you read such a story. From the beginning of the lock down, one of the key concerns of women across the country has been closure of beauty parlors.

While the coronavirus pandemic hits the world and kills over 100,000 people. It does not affect some. They have some other serious concerns. They look forward to opening of beauty parlors so they can ensure their cosmetic looks appear similarly beautiful.

A social media user claims that leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Member of Provincial Assembly in Punjab Salma Sadia Taimoor formally submits a resolution. The resolution demands exemption for beauty parlors during the lock down.

Is Beauty Parlor Essential?

While many of us consider strict beauty standards for celebrities. Women consider it as an essential, even in the tougher time. It seems the case for Pakistan where the government has listed some essential services to be exempt from the lockdown. 

Until now, the exemption is applied for essential services only. The essential services include grocery and food items, medical supplies and pharmacies or banking services. All other services are temporarily under suspension due to the spread of corona virus.

However, with passage of this resolution, the beauty parlors may also become part of essential services. Thus, Women demand for exemption of beauty parlors during lock down in Pakistan may become reality.

It is yet unclear if men’s salons would also open along with women’s parlors and get consideration of essential services.
