Google offers earning through its Shorts App on YouTube. Through this, Google is following the other streaming platforms to compete with the latest technology trends. Although, Google is the top tech company in the world with the highest revenue stream. Yet, it continues to strive towards getting more business opportunities, engage larger audience and remain relevant to every new technology. Thus, Google is bringing this new program for creators through which it plans to pay them.

Is Shorts an App?

Yes. This program is running separately on a new app. However, you need to be careful as a number of spammers may show you an app for downloading. The Shorts App on Google Playstore is not available in all countries. Google is currently offering limited access to Shorts App in a few countries. However, it will float it across the globe after testing it in United States, United Kingdom and Canada.

Earning from Shorts App

YouTube’s advertising revenues in the January-March period of 2021 was $6 billion. This allows YouTube to further take the market share from streaming apps such as Tik Tok or Snack Video. YouTube Short is developed to create shorter videos for a maximum of 15 seconds that are easy to create and a fun way to deal with the audiences.

Thus, Google has announced to pay creators up to $10,000 a month for making popular videos on Shorts app. The company has launched YouTube Shorts Fund, a $100 million fund distributed over 2021-2022. “Each month, we’ll reach out to thousands of eligible creators to claim a payment from the Fund — creators can make anywhere from $100 to $10,000 based on viewership and engagement on their Shorts,” YouTube said in a statement.

The $100 million fund will help build a monetization model for Shorts on YouTube and is not limited to just creators in YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) and any creator that meets its eligibility criteria can participate. With the launch of the Shorts Fund, creators and artists now have 10 ways to make money and build a business on YouTube.
